NEW YORK –  Actress Katrina Bowden plays a prostitute named Fortune on the mob drama “Public Morals,” but she wants everyone to know her character does more than just turn tricks.

“Fortune is a high end call girl in the 1960s, so she’s a prostitute, but she has a lot more to her than just that,” Bowden told FOX411. “She’s really really sweet, and you really like her, but you also don’t trust her. You don‘t really know if she’s lying to you or kind of manipulating everything around her. So she’s definitely a lot like the Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’ character where she’s a hooker, but you like her, and you’re kind of rooting for her.”

And while Bowden plays an escort who likes to get frisky, the show ‘Public Morals’ is on basic cable, so there are no “Games of Thrones”-esque sex scenes involved.

“There’s no nudity on the show, it is cable so we’re limited in what we can show, but it’s definitely sexy, a lot of sexual implication with different characters,” she said.

Where “Public Morals” doesn’t hold back is when a character goes to meet his or her maker.

“They definitely push the envelope with violence. When people die you see them getting killed, like if someone gets stabbed you watch the whole process happen, it’s not something where they imply that it happened off camera,” Bowden said. “So they definitely go there with the violence.”

Bowden, 26, got her big break on “30 Rock” playing Liz Lemon’s ditzy assistant Cerie when she was just out of high school.

“I was 17 when I started on ’30 Rock,’ I was like a month away from turning 18, I had just graduated high school, moved to New York, and I was very, very new at it.”

A former model, Bowden’s good looks also got her a lot of attention early in her career, and she was even named Esquire’s sexiest woman alive.

“It’s very flattering. It’s very nice,” she said. “It’s definitely a little weird at the same time because I definitely don’t view myself in that kind of way, but it’s great.”

Married to musician Ben Jorgensen since 2013, Bowden said she’s not worried that both she and her husband work in the cutthroat entertainment field.

“We’re both in the entertainment industry, but we’re both in different parts of the industry, so we both get what each other are going through, but its separated enough where we’re not kind of butting heads on the same type of issues,” she said.

One thing Bowden is worried about, however, is making sure Fortune goes out with a bang if she ever gets killed off on the show, hoping if that day ever comes, she gets to do “an epic fight scene, so at least you have like, one good hurrah before you’re gone.”
