Two of 2015’s #GOPdebates down, three more to go. And yes, that’s just in 2015 (never mind those Democratic primary debates). Welcome to this week’s OnPolitics roundup.

#GOPdebate 2.0

Fifteen of the Republican presidential candidates gathered at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif., Wednesday night to debate their hearts out, four during the happy hour debate and 11 in the primetime. You’re not imagining it: It was the longest debate ever in TV history. For the hours that they went on and on, we did learn a lot: Republicans are really mad at Republicans, Lindsey Graham isn’t always so glum and you can get some real answers out of candidates (and no, we don’t mean Jeb Bush’s admission to smoking marijuana 40 years ago). So, who won? Depends on who you ask.

Walker’s downward spiral

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker started off as No. 7 in USA TODAY’s GOP power rankings three weeks ago. Last week, he had dropped to No. 8. This week: No. 9. Things aren’t looking good for the Harley-riding candidate. Says Democratic pollster Margie Omero: “He can’t cruise to the nomination just based on one good showing in Iowa a few months ago and his record on unions.” His debate performance also appears to be a wash, with some saying he came out strong and others saying that it was “pretty easy to forget” he was there.

Trump doesn’t challenge questioner

For once, it was what businessman Donald Trump didn’t say that made headlines. On Thursday, Trump took questions during a town hall in New Hampshire, and the first one was a doozy: The questioner said President Obama was Muslim and “not even an American” before asking “how can we get rid of” Muslims. Trump — lest you forget, a prominent voice in the “birther” movement — didn’t correct the man, only saying that “we’re going to be looking into that.” Comparisons have since been drawn between Trump and 2008 Republican nominee Sen. John McCain, who told a voter during his own campaign that Obama was not Muslim, and called him “a decent, family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with.”

Tweet your candidates (money)

The power of social media continues: Twitter and Square have teamed up to create a new interface that allows users to send money to their favorite candidate from their Twitter feed. Campaigns can tweet a “donate now” link that takes them to a donation form within the Twitter app. They then can tweet about their donations.  According to Twitter, it’s “something campaigns have been asking for for a long time.” Twelve presidential candidates are participating in the system.

Clinton talks to Trump — sort of

Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton was interviewed by Donald Trump Wednesday night, shortly after the debate — or rather, she was interviewed by Jimmy Fallon pretending to be Donald Trump. In a manner similar to Fallon’s Trump interviewing real Trump last week, Fallon and Clinton went back and forth in the opening bit of the Tonight Show, with moments that included:

Clinton: I am curious, Donald, what is your stance on women’s issues?

Fallon’s Trump: Look, I know a lot of women and they all have issues

The best politics photo of the week

There were a lot of debate photos to choose from, but the framing of this one captures the true heart of the matter: AMERICA.

Thank goodness for the lower tier candidates — because let’s be honest, all 15 candidates never would have fit under that one word.
