Several children in a car related to a fatal shooting have been hurt, Kansas City Police Chief Daryl Forte tweeted Tuesday night.
One person is dead and one was critically hurt in the shooting, tweeted Forte, who said authorities were pursuing the "homicide suspect vehicle" and that a deflation device struck a tire. "I anticipate quick apprehension," the chief tweeted.
The Kansas City Start was reporting that at least two others were hurt outside of the person who died. The news organization reported six children were in the car that crfashed.
A woman who answered the phone at the Kansas City Police Department said police department representatives would not be able to discuss anything with the media until the investigation was over, and she said personnel were busy responding. But she would not confirm the shootings.
