Former teen idol David Cassidy’s Fort Lauderdale home was auctioned off on Wednesday. The sale comes after Cassidy filed for bankruptcy and divorce.
Cassidy, 65, bought the five-bedroom waterfront home in 2001 for around $1.1 million, spending another $1 million more in renovations expanding to 7,000 square feet. Fischer Auction Company handled the auction, which included furnishings.
Ryan Julison, representative for Fischer Auction Company, told FOX411: “Cassidy has been very accommodating throughout this process.”
Fischer Auction Company is the same company that handled Gianni Versace’s Miami beach mansion in 2013.
Cassidy, 64, reportedly owed hundreds of thousands of dollars to various creditors including a hefty $292,598 to Well Fargo, $21,952 to American Express and $17,150 to Citibank.
In 2013, Cassidy’s wife filed for divorce after 23 years of marriage. Shortly after that, Cassidy entered rehab for alcohol after being charged for driving while intoxicated in 2014.
