A Facebook post about an Iranian boy and his father has drawn attention around the world, even from President Obama.

On Thursday, the photoblog Humans of New York posted a picture of a 10-year-old Iranian boy and his father. The boy lives in Tabriz, Iran, and his father recounted how he knew he was raising a "humanitarian," when the boy gave away apricots he was supposed to carry home.

Shortly after the picture was posted, Obama commented on the picture and called the story "inspirational."

"One of the most fulfilling things that can happen to you as a parent is to see the values you've worked to instill in your kids start to manifest themselves in their actions – and this one really resonated with me," Obama said in the post. "I hope this young man never loses his desire to help others."

The president posted from the White House Facebook page, and signed the comment with his initials "bo."

Obama's post to the young Iranian boy comes amid the president's struggle to secure support and assure the passage of the Iran nuclear deal.

The president concluded the post with a promise, "I'm going to continue doing whatever I can to make this world a place where he and every young person like him can live up to their full potential."
