1. Take advantage of free admission to America's national parks

The National Park Service will celebrate its 99th birthday with free admission into all of its 408 parks Tuesday. In advance of its 100th birthday, the park service, first lady Michelle Obama and former first lady Laura Bush launched an ambitious program of outreach — called "Find Your Park" — that is meant to encourage more Americans to visit the parks. 2. Suspect in social worker killing faces 3 new murder charges

Jody Herring — the woman who allegedly shot and killed a Vermont social worker earlier this month — goes to court again Tuesday to face new charges in the murders of three relatives. Authorities say Herring, 40, used the same stolen rifle to kill all four victims on the same day in a dispute about child custody. Her lawyer stated she intends to plead not guilty to the charges, which include aggravated murder and could bring life in prison.

3.Are you ready for some video game football? 'Madden NFL 16' arrives

The game hits shelves Tuesday for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This year’s Madden video game from EA Sports focuses on the playmakers, introducing new control options that allow superstars to make big plays on the field. Here's how the new Madden rates all 32 teams in the NFL. (Hint: The participants in last year's Super Bowl are in the top slots.)

4. Springsteen's masterpiece 'Born to Run' turns 40

Forty years ago, Bruce Springsteen rose from promising singer-songwriter to legend. That's because on Aug. 25, 1975, his classic third album, Born to Run, was released. This opus to American struggles and dreams solidified the Springsteen sound and blared out of car stereo speakers across the USA. 5. Misty Copeland makes her Broadway debut

You may remember the 32-year-old from her breathtaking Under Armour ad. Or you may remember her as the dancer who made history in June by becoming the first African-American woman ever promoted to principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre. But today she marks another personal first — she makes her Broadway debut in On the Town at New York City's Lyric Theatre.
