WiFi TV sets are equipped with a wireless connection port. WiFi makes it possible for a TV to communicate with various electronic devices without being physically connected to them. In order for the connection to work the devices must be WiFi ready as well.

One benefit is the ability to connect your TV to a computer, gaming console, or media player without using an Ethernet cable. This can make it possible to connect more than one device at a time. Another benefit is that WiFi TV's are also internet ready. This means that you can access the internet through your TV.

A WiFi TV differs from a WiFi ready TV because WiFi ready TV's need additional equipment, and the WiFi TV is integrated internally.

The term internet ready TV refers to the capability of accessing movies, music, weather, or sports on your TV through the internet. If you enjoy the above activities, you would want an internet ready TV. These TV's are interactive in that through your remote you select what you want to do. Surfing the web is not made possible because these TV's serve as a portal to specific internet television applications.

There are different brands of TV's to choose from. The Samsung Smart TV offers videos, games, sports, information, & lifestyle internet television applications. Vizio offers movies, music, facebook, twitter, sports, wikipedia, and many more internet tv apps. Sony Bravia system offers internet television applications like mp3 downloading with napster or NBA statistics. Panasonic internet capable TVs use Viera connect apps to access internet content. Smart Share stands fot LG telvisions, ready to access internet movies and apps.

Internet applications

Streaming videos can be viewed through Netflix. Netflix allows you to search and choose from available movies and television programs that you can then watch directly to your TV. Youtube is another way videos can be viewed directly to your television. Music videos are popularly watched this way. Napster and Pandora are internet tv apps that allow you to listen to your favorite music via your television while Facebook and Twitter are the social networks made available. CNN, AP, and USA Today are news apps available, and you can check the weather via Accuweather or Weather channel. NBA Game time, and Fox sports are the sports apps available.
