Search and rescue crews have reportedly been unable to find a woman who went over Niagara Falls early Saturday evening.
The Buffalo News reports a two-hour search from above and below the falls turned up nothing, according to Niagara Falls Fire Department Battalion Chief Mark Fontanella.
New York State police said on Saturday a woman believed to be in her 40s went over the falls at Prospect Point.
Park Police spokesman Randy Simons said it appeared the woman intentionally entered the water to “harm herself.” A witness’ video turned over to investigators showed a woman going over the brink of the falls, according to the News.
Authorities, with the assistance from the Maid of the Mist crews, also asked Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada to be on the lookout for the woman.
